Our Carpet Cleaning Process

Peacock Rug Care has been cleaning carpets in the Ottawa area since 1987. Having invested heavily in specialized equipment, education and have developed systems that are always on the cutting edge, our experienced technicians are courteous and gentle, and their main concern is to give the customer a great experience.
There are a variety of methods, products and equipment used to clean carpets. Over the years, having done extensive research and tried many different processes and tools, we’ve narrowed it down to two methods. We fully utilize hot water extraction, more commonly known as steam cleaning as well as low moisture extraction (bonnet extraction). By using these two methods, we have been able to achieve great results over the years on a wide variety of carpeting, as each method has strengths in different areas.

Steam Cleaning

During the steam cleaning or hot water extraction process, hot water is sprayed on your carpet and immediately sucked back out. This method actually rinses deep into the carpet allowing the soils deep down to be removed. Almost all of the world’s largest carpet manufacturers recommend hot water extraction, which research indicates provides the best capability for cleaning, especially in your home. This process is ideal for in-home and commercial restoration cleaning.

Low Moisture Cleaning

The low moisture method utilizes a variety of techniques, equipment and products which makes up our multi step bonnet extraction process. From counter rotating brush machines, to the top of the line Orbital Pad extractors, we have what is needed to ensure your carpets look and smell beautiful. This process is ideal for highrise and commercial applications.
