I honestly thought we had it in the bag yesterday as McCoy gave Temple Lord a blinding ride and took the lead but was unfortunately swallowed up with nothing more to give come the final 3 furlongs. Would have been a nice little winner at 5/1 but we where unlucky. So moving onto today and with renewed optimism we head to Wicanton today for their first race on the card and 13 runner due to line up in the 2.20. It has been a tough month for yours truly but I'm looking for the tides to turn as we head deeper into the jumps

The one that catches the eye is the Colin Tizzard trained 5 year old Buckhorn Tom. He did nothing wrong last time out at Newton Abbot but just found one too good that day. The step back in trip looks to be ideal here today and he's only carrying an extra lb compared to last time. I think he'll like to run up with the pace and having 2 furlongs less to run into he should grab the front to win this. He's won on the soft and come second on good to firm twice so the ground being good, possibly soft come race time can only add to his chances. Tizzard's yard have not been firing yet but I think today should be the day to put that record straight. I've got 3/1 on my tissue about Buckhorn Tom and will be taking the value with Bet365 at 5/1 for a win only bet.
